Holidays

Courtney and I had a blast putting together a few Christmas decorations! We realize we're skipping Thanksgiving...but if the stores can do it, so can we!

Lyndsey's Homecoming Posters

A chance to create these posters for one of my favorite people was also a chance for me to get back into the creative spirit! So here is the first post in a while...with more to come!

Lyndsey was a beautiful Homecoming Court Maid and I hope she liked her posters!

Studio 262

So Courtney and I have a new little ritual...wine, ice cream, a movie and a project! Tonight Courtney tried her hand at watercolors. And I'm working on letters for 2 baby rooms for friends of mine. Just the beginning stages but here's a look!

Tiger Canvas

This is a canvas I painted for one of my favorite buddies, Stuart Paul. He just graduated from SHS and is headed to play baseball at LSUE this fall. Hoping this puts him in the Tiger (Bengal) spirit!

Bows

Holly requested these bows in fun summer colors for her two little cousins in Shreveport. I hope they enjoy them!

Painting for Alaina

This was a birthday gift that I did for Alaina, for her and Julius's apartment. It's an old piece of cypress that my dad found for me. I love all of the holes and marks in it, and there were even a few wooden pegs still in it.

I made my first sale today, and thought I should record it! Thanks "Nanny Shay" for investing in Sunshine's Sister! I hope Alyssa enjoys the bows and bow holder! :)

Fleur de Lis Canvas

This was a canvas I painted for my sister and brother-in-law's 2nd Wedding Anniversary. That's the "cotton" anniversary, so I went with a "cotton" canvas. (I'm not sure why it won't allow me to flip the picture.)

Birthday Party Hats

These are pictures from my niece's first birthday party.
The first picture is the "birthday hat tree". We couldn't find any party hats for the kids that matched the bright colored party theme. So I bought plain hats and added a little sparkle!
The second picture is a party hat I made for Eliza's first birthday. I added a "1" after, that I could remove and change for next year and the next.

Sign in Board

I made this cutting board for my cousin's wine and cheese themed engagement party. My sister had one similar made for her as a gift when she celebrated her engagement, and I thought it was such a fun way to have guests sign in with a message for the couple. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of it after with all the signatures.

Patterned bows

Initial Bows

These bows have a monogrammed lowercase initial. I'm working on being able to do the monogram in a capital letter or a fun font.

Headbands

I decided to try out a few headbands, first with the colors of my hometown school for a few friends who have children there now. Next I'll make a few solid colors and other patterns. Would love suggestions on colors to try!

Bows

I started making hairbows for my niece Eliza, and got hooked on the process! I love choosing new patterns and colors.

Jewelry Hanger

I painted this wall hanger to put my everyday necklaces on. I usually just have them lying all around, and this will get them off of the counter.

Ballerina Canvas

This is a canvas I painted for my niece's room after seeing a few similar pictures. I'm not sure if she'll be a dancer like her Nana, but here's hoping!

Welcome to the Sunshine's Sister blog!

I'm now a 3rd year (Ahh, where does the time go?!) law student at LSU. I've always had a passion for creative art projects, but law school has seemed to spark a new life into my ideas. After I graduated college, I dreamed of opening my own boutique. Now I'm glad to be able to at least have this blog and a little time to do what I love. I'm thankful for my oh-so-talented roommate Courtney, who inspires me in this effort daily! For now, these ideas are my hobby (and my sanity during exams.) Hope you enjoy browsing!
